William Herbert Loewen, 95, died peacefully on February 4, 2026 with family present. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, friend, entrepreneur, and devout patron of the arts. From the many emails he received while in palliative care, it was obvious that he had a deep impact on many, many lives. Bill was a kind and generous person. An accidental encounter many years ago led me to work with him on a project that meant a lot to him, and even though we only interacted a few times, I will never forget how he encouraged me and supported the work I was doing. His support of the local arts and culture scene was inspirational, and those who knew him better than I did always said what a great man he was. My wife Diane and I had the privilege of becoming good friends with Bill & Shirley spending time at their cottage on several occasions. Diane worked fearlessly with Bill on the National Party venture. Both of us were part of TelPay plus many other ventures made possible by this incredible man.
